Year-End 2024: Bank Jatim Simultaneously Delivers CSR Contributions to Two Regency Governments.

BATU, December 31, 2024. As a form of corporate social responsibility to the surrounding environment, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has officially handed over Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the Batu City Government. The assistance provided consists of 50 sidewalk benches and 1 unit of a portable caravan toilet. Held at the Batu City Pavilion, the CSR was symbolically handed over by the Acting Branch Manager of Bank Jatim Batu, Sugiastuti, to the Acting Mayor of Batu, Aries Agung Paewai, on Tuesday (31/12).
President Director of bankjatim, Busrul Iman, explained that the assistance of 50 sidewalk benches could have a positive impact in several ways. These include increasing pedestrian comfort by providing rest areas and improving accessibility for people with disabilities through strategic bench placements that allow for rest and interaction with the surrounding environment.
“Additionally, these sidewalk benches can serve as spaces for social interaction where people can gather and talk, while simultaneously enhancing urban aesthetics by beautifying public spaces,” he elaborated.
Meanwhile, the portable caravan toilet is designed to improve the infrastructure and facilities supporting Green Open Spaces (RTH) or Batu City Parks, facilitating easier access to public sanitation facilities and ensuring the availability of clean toilets in public areas.
“Bank Jatim’s CSR is implemented through various social activities touching multiple sectors, from education and the environment to health. This is a form of our concern for the people of East Java and support for Local Government programs to improve community welfare,” he emphasized.
According to Busrul, while the company intensively drives innovations in customer service, bankjatim also consistently prioritizes social and humanitarian programs through CSR funds. “CSR is bankjatim's investment in supporting sustainable development. Furthermore, the implementation of our CSR programs is a form of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) implementation,” he said.
Beyond Batu, on the same day, bankjatim also delivered CSR assistance to the Bondowoso Regency Government in the form of 3 motorcycle ambulance units. Held at the Bondowoso Regency Pavilion, the symbolic handover was conducted by the Branch Manager of Bank Jatim Bondowoso, Bambang Eko Budi Prakoso, to the Acting Regent of Bondowoso, Muhammad Hadi Wawan Guntoro.
The assistance is intended for life-saving efforts and the evacuation of victims during disasters in remote areas that are difficult to reach by four-wheeled vehicles, as well as to support public health services in Bondowoso Regency. “We hope this assistance will make it easier for the community to access optimal health services, ensuring that health-related needs are addressed quickly, responsively, and conveniently,” Busrul concluded.
