SEMARANG, January 29, 2026. The Trade and Investment Mission event held by the East Java Provincial Government in Semarang, Central Java, was successfully conducted on Thursday (1/29). As the largest Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) in East Java, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) certainly continues to fully support the Trade Mission program. This was realized by involving several MSMEs assisted by Bank Jatim and simultaneously holding a wastra (traditional textile) performance. Located at the PO Hotel Semarang, the activity was attended by the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the Vice Governor of Central Java Province Taj Yasien Maimoen, and the President Director of Bank Jatim Winardi Legowo.

Winardi explained that the trade mission is a forum to bring together MSME players from different regions or provinces with buyers. In addition to business meetings, this event also serves as a gateway for socio-cultural exchange between regions. ”We are currently continuing our efforts to help MSMEs in terms of marketing access, financing, and mentoring. Bank Jatim strongly supports MSMEs in developing their businesses. Well, one of Bank Jatim's missions in this activity is to help assisted MSMEs expand their market networks and support the government in strengthening trade ties between the Provinces of East Java and Central Java,” he explained.

There were 4 MSMEs assisted by Bank Jatim included in the event. Among them were coffee products from UMKM ……, Eco Print products from UMKM Annisa Mode, handcraft products from UMKM Lesimpul, and Batik products from UMKM Rara Batik. These superior products from Bank Jatim's assisted MSMEs are expected to provide benefits according to the needs of the community in the Central Java region. ”As a regional-owned bank, we will continue to support MSMEs so that their growth becomes more rapid and of good quality so they can compete in national and international markets,” said Winardi.

Furthermore, on that occasion, Bank Jatim also presented a Batik Wastra Performing Art from Bank Jatim's assisted MSMEs, namely Batik Ra Ra from Trenggalek and Batik Sheza by Anne from Gresik. The wastra theme presented by the Raka – Raki of East Java in this Trade Mission performance was Ritus Nengah Nggalek – Trenggalek caring from the Middle. Ritus Nengah was born from the awareness to pause for a moment, postpone decisions, and give time for what settles. Not because of doubt, but because of the belief that balance cannot be rushed. ”This batik wastra performance is one way for Bank Jatim to preserve and excite the community in terms of loving ancestral heritage, especially for the younger generation. Hopefully, in the future, the number of batik enthusiasts will increase and Indonesian batik can become increasingly well-known on the global stage,” explained Tonny.

This inaugural trade mission was again successful in recording proud results. In a single day of meetings, business players from both regions managed to record a transaction value of up to Rp 3.15 trillion. This achievement consists of "East Java Sells" (Jatim Jual) transactions worth Rp 2.76 trillion, "East Java Buys" (Jatim Beli) worth Rp 296.86 billion, and investment commitments reaching Rp 96 billion.

Khofifah explained that the traded commodities reflect the strengths as well as the needs of each region. In the "East Java Sells" scheme, East Java supplies products such as cigarettes, rice, coffee, white crystal sugar, molasses, fish and shrimp feed, sugarcane and corn seeds, surimi, chicken and beef along with their processed products, milk, fish and various fishery products, to liquid organic fertilizer. Meanwhile, in the "East Java Buys" scheme, East Java absorbs several commodities from Central Java such as logs, fish eggs, cloves, tobacco, rice bran, plastic bottles, sugarcane brown sugar, tapioca flour, and MSME products such as sambal pecel and woven bags. This two-way transaction pattern is considered capable of optimizing outbound and inbound loads between regions. ”The products traded in this trade mission show that we complement each other, not compete with each other,” she said.

According to Khofifah, a sustainable trade mission is an important instrument for regional governments to bring together selling and buying business players more effectively, both through government-to-business and business-to-business schemes. This effort is also in line with strengthening domestic trade and import substitution, especially the fulfillment of industrial raw materials. “We all have strengths and limitations. Let’s grow together, develop together, advance together, and prosper together. The key is synergy and collaboration,” she concluded.
