SURABAYA, September 22, 2025. In order to expand the bonds of synergy, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) together with the East Java High Prosecutor's Office conducted the signing of a cooperation agreement in the fields of civil and administrative law on Monday (22/9). Located in the Bromo Room of the Bank Jatim Head Office, the agreement was signed by the President Director of Bank Jatim Winardi Legowo and the Head of the East Java High Prosecutor's Office Dr. Kuntadi.
Winardi explained that the management expresses its highest appreciation for the willingness of the East Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Jatim) to provide legal assistance to Bank Jatim. ”We express our gratitude to the East Java High Prosecutor's Office for their willingness to provide assistance in handling legal issues and providing legal protection for state assets and interests. This cooperation will certainly minimize potential legal disputes, while providing legal certainty in every one of our strategic steps,” he said.
Winardi explained that the implementation of this cooperation agreement is not the first time it has been carried out. The activity was conducted within the framework of supporting the synergy of the implementation of tasks and functions. ”This was realized considering the very important role of the Prosecutor's Office for Bank Jatim in providing legal assistance, legal considerations, securing strategic development and/or accelerating investment, asset tracing and recovery, as well as the development and improvement of human resource competence. That is what underlies today's signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between Bank Jatim and the East Java High Prosecutor's Office,” he explained.
According to Winardi, thus far, the form of synergy from the cooperation established between Bank Jatim and the Prosecutor's Office has provided significant benefits. Among others, the Prosecutor's Office acts for and on behalf of Bank Jatim in facing legal issues both inside and outside the court. Furthermore, the Prosecutor's Office plays an active role in efforts to reduce Bank Jatim's NPL (Non-Performing Loan), which arises from the progress of credit payments or settlements by defaulting debtors through credit collection and mediation with debtors. In addition, the Prosecutor's Office has also helped us by providing LO (Legal Opinion) as a point of consideration for Bank Jatim in supporting the company's business development.
”The Prosecutor's Office also plays an active role in providing social dissemination and legal education to Bank Jatim employees in order to mitigate legal risks that potentially occur within banking operations. Therefore, given the many positive impacts in the implementation of the cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, we hereby hope that these positive impacts can continue in the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between Bank Jatim and the East Java High Prosecutor's Office being carried out now,” said Winardi.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kuntadi also emphasized that this cooperation is a form of support for stability and integrity in the banking sector. ”In the business world and the banking sector, there are always dynamics and legal challenges. For that reason, the East Java High Prosecutor's Office is ready to be a strategic partner for Bank Jatim in maintaining integrity, legal certainty, and business sustainability. Through this cooperation, Kejati Jatim and Bank Jatim are committed to strengthening synergy in law enforcement to support the creation of legal certainty and business protection to realize a more advanced, prosperous, and competitive East Java,” he concluded.
