LUMAJANG, May 14, 2024. As a form of corporate social responsibility to the community, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has officially handed over Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the Lumajang District Government on Monday (14/5). The assistance provided was in the form of procuring 120,000 eggs to prevent and support the acceleration of stunting reduction for babies aged 0-2 years (baduta) or babies aged 2-5 years (toddlers) in Lumajang Regency. Located at Pendopo Arya Wiraraja Lumajang, the CSR handover was carried out symbolically by bankjatim IT & Digital Director Zulhelfi Abidin to Pj. Lumajang Regent Indah Wahyuni.
Zulhelfi explained that nutritional problems in toddlers are a public health problem that is still relatively high in Indonesia. Stunting is not just a matter of height, but what is worse is the impact on the quality of life of individuals. Such as lagging behind in cognitive and motor abilities to metabolic disorders as adults. Therefore, bankjatim took part in supporting government programs in preventing and reducing the prevalence of stunting and supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals.
.
“Well, with this CSR assistance, it is expected to fulfill the needs of the Lumajang community in order to improve nutrition. Because, eggs have a high protein content for toddlers to increase body weight and height. Hopefully, our joint efforts can have a positive impact on the development of children in East Java,” he explained.
According to Zulhelfi, the procurement of 120,000 eggs is also a real effort by bankjatim to support the reduction of stunting in East Java as well as to encourage a quality young generation of Indonesia. “Through the procurement of these eggs, bankjatim not only helps encourage government programs in preventing stunting, but also helps improve the quality of Indonesia's strong and great human resources for a better future through improved nutrition,” said Zulhelfi.
In addition to the CSR handover, the occasion also saw the launching of the Local Government Credit Card (KKPD) in Lumajang District. Zulhelfi said, KKPD is a credit card that can be used to make payments for expenditures charged to the APBD, after the cardholder's payment obligations are fulfilled by the credit card issuing bank in accordance with the obligations at the agreed time. Furthermore, the SKPD repays the payment obligation at the agreed time with a lump sum payment.
He hopes that the launching of this KKPD can provide many benefits. Among other things, it can reduce idle cash from the use of work unit inventory money, increase security, reduce the potential for fraud, and minimize the use of cash. “Hopefully the Lumajang branch of bankjatim can continue to work together hand in hand with the program run by the Lumajang Regency Government to increase economic growth and develop regional potential,” Zulhelfi explained.
Meanwhile, Indah Wahyuni expressed her deepest gratitude to bankjatim for the synergy that has been established so far in supporting government programs. “Hopefully this cooperation will continue and can bring blessings to all,” he concluded.
