MALANG, December 30, 2024. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Polytechnic of Malang (Polinema) on Monday (30/12). The signed MoU encompasses cooperation in the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), Human Resource Development, and the provision of Financial Services. Held at the Polinema campus, the agreement was signed by bankjatim’s SEVP of Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional Banking, Koerniawan Prijambodo, and the Director of Polinema, Supriatna Adhisuwignjo.
President Director of bankjatim, Busrul Iman, explained that the cooperation roadmap between bankjatim and Polinema covers a wide range of initiatives. These include bankjatim’s financial services in both funding and lending sectors. Furthermore, synergy will be established in education, research, community service, and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, alongside human resource enhancement and empowerment. The MBKM program, initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, is designed to encourage higher education institutions to partner with corporations to facilitate student access to professional practical work and internship opportunities.
“bankjatim maintains a serious commitment to the education sector by actively supporting various educational development programs in Indonesia. We are very enthusiastic about this partnership. We believe that synergy between the banking industry and academia is a vital step in cultivating a younger generation that is prepared to meet global challenges,” Busrul elaborated.
He expressed hope that through this collaboration, Polinema students would gain valuable practical experience in the banking world, serving as a manifestation of bankjatim’s contribution to elevating the quality of higher education in East Java. “We hope this partnership fosters a synergy between academia and industry to drive future innovations and new programs that will ultimately contribute to the economic development of East Java,” Busrul stated.
Meanwhile, Supriatna Adhisuwignjo conveyed his deepest gratitude to bankjatim for the well-established collaboration. According to him, MBKM is a strategic effort to prepare human resources—specifically students—to be workforce-ready with proficient competencies, collaborative skills, critical thinking, creativity, and innovative capabilities. “We believe the synergy between the education sector and the industrial world provides significant benefits not only for students but also for the industry, particularly the banking sector and bankjatim,” he concluded.
