The East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) is again carrying out trade and investment missions. After last May to Lampung, now the trade and investment mission is carried out in Padang. With the theme of Increasing Network Connectivity Between East Java Province and West Sumatra Province, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk. or bankjatim participated in supporting the provincial government's program.
Located at the ZHM Premiere Padang Hotel, the trade and investment mission activities were attended directly by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi Ansharullah, and bankjatim Risk Management Director Eko Susetyono on Monday (12/6).
The form of bankjatim support in this trade mission activity by including three fostered MSMEs in order to expand the market. The three MSMEs are Diamonte (from Mojokerto), Beeze Honey (from Surabaya), and Kopi Luwak Dampit (from Malang).
Eko explained, MSMEs have become one of the supporters of Indonesia, especially East Java, in passing through various economic phases. Therefore, bankjatim is committed to always be present in supporting and providing solutions for the development of MSMEs. "Not only support in the field of funding, bankjatim also presents solutions for the development of MSMEs in East Java both in terms of promotion and market access. Therefore, we facilitate MSMEs fostered by bankjatim to participate in this trade mission in Padang, "he explained.
According to Eko, MSMEs not only need financial support for working capital or procurement of raw materials only. However, another important thing that must get support is improving the quality and marketing of products and expanding the consumer base. "MSMEs need to continue to upgrade, not only become champions in the region but also contribute nationally and compete globally," said Eko.

In addition, bankjatim-assisted MSMEs are also encouraged to be literate in digital technology. One way is to facilitate transactions using bankjatim QRIS. With QRIS, buyers and traders can easily interact in conducting financial transactions. So it is expected that the pace of trade can increase. "Therefore, the MSMEs that we brought to Padang have also utilized bankjatim QRIS in making payment transactions with buyers. Practical and fast just scan the barcode, "said Eko.
As for the trade and investment mission in Padang, it succeeded in recording transaction commitments of more than Rp 220.8 billion. Khofifah explained in her speech, activities like this are part of strengthening partnerships to improve productivity and economic relations with West Sumatra. "In addition, it can also improve the strata of MSMEs to become compatible MSMEs and make the market wider," said the number one person in East Java.
Mahyeldi welcomed the Trade and Investment Mission activities that have been carried out by the East Java Provincial Government in Padang. According to him, West Sumatra has a very special relationship with East Java. Because, there are a lot of Minang migrants from East Java, especially among traders.
"With this very positive activity, it will certainly further bind a stronger relationship between East Java and West Sumatra. Hopefully this cooperation can continue," Mahyeldi said.
