SURABAYA, March 4, 2025. On Tuesday (4/3), PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) along with the Lamongan Regency Government carried out three activities simultaneously. These were the signing of the MoU for Local Government Transaction Electronification (ETPD) between the Lamongan Regency Government and Bank Jatim Lamongan Branch, the signing of the Integrity Pact for the Lamongan Regency Regional Digitalization Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD), and the handover of CSR in the form of Town Square (Aloon-Aloon) revitalization to the Lamongan Regency Government.

Held at the Lamongan Regency Government Multipurpose Room, the activity was attended by Bank Jatim's Director of IT, Digital, and Operations Zulhelfi Abidin, Lamongan Regent Yuhronur Efendi, and Lamongan Vice Regent Dirham Akbar Aksara.

Zulhelfi explained that Bank Jatim is the bank for the people of East Java, focusing not only on increasing its business but also on providing beneficial value to the community. “Like what we are doing together now, which is the handover of Bank Jatim Peduli CSR in the form of the Lamongan Town Square revitalization. It is our obligation to always synergize in building and driving the regional economy in East Java. Hopefully, what we are doing can be beneficial in meeting the community's needs,” he said.

The revitalization includes the addition of incandescent lights, park benches, a playground, and much more. “We hope that with this revitalization of the Lamongan Town Square, it can beautify the square's appearance as a public space and the face of the city, increase public comfort, and boost the economic growth of the Lamongan community, considering there are many street vendors and MSMEs around the square,” he explained.

Regarding ETPD and TP2DD, according to Zulhelfi, tax digitalization can provide convenience for the community. Therefore, on this occasion, the Lamongan Regency Government and Bank Jatim also held a high-level meeting. “Meeting the community's needs demands Bank Jatim to continue innovating to provide easy services, such as m-banking, the use of QRIS, and including ETPD. The goal is to realize the expansion of a less cash society and financial inclusion,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Lamongan Regent Yuhronur Efendi explained that the use of ETPD will provide ease in administration. This is because tax validation, reporting procedures, and payments are carried out digitally through QRIS, mobile banking, and virtual accounts. This is intended as an effort to change local government revenue and expenditure transactions from cash to digital-based non-cash methods.

Yuhronur also emphasized that digital tax payments essentially provide convenience for the community. “By using electronification, it will reduce hand-to-hand transactions. With this, payments are immediately well-recorded, can be analyzed, and implemented quickly, accurately, and accountably,” he said.
