Celebrate the Holy Month, Bank Jatim QRIS Ramadan Vaganza Officially Opened for a Week

SURABAYA, March 25, 2024. To enliven the holy month of Ramadan 1445H, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) together with the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot), Bank Indonesia, and Suara Surabaya officially held an event entitled bankjatim QRIS Ramadan Vaganza 2024 in the courtyard of Surabaya City Hall. The activity was opened festively and was attended by bankjatim President Director Busrul Iman, Director of Micro, Retail & Medium bankjatim R. Arief Wicaksono, Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi, Head of the Deputy Director Division of Bank Indonesia East Java Province Farid Efendi, President Director of Suara Surabaya Verry Firmansyah and Director of Financial Services Institutions 1 OJK Prov Jatim, Dedy Patria. The bankjatim QRIS Ramadan Vaganza which is open to the public will take place from March 25-31, 2024 at 14.00 WIB - 21.30 WIB. In addition to Surabaya, Bank Jatim QRIS Ramadan Vaganza is also held simultaneously in all branches of Bank Jatim in East Java.
According to Busrul, bankjatim QRIS Ramadan Vaganza which was attended by 96 MSMEs was not only to improve the relationship between religious communities, but also as a forum for MSME players in developing their business and contributing to economic growth in East Java. For information, all MSMEs participating in this grand activity come from bankjatim-assisted MSMEs, Surabaya City Government-assisted MSMEs, Bank Indonesia-assisted MSMEs, and general MSMEs.
"Please also note, another goal of this event is to introduce and provide education about QRIS services as a digital transaction media for people in East Java so that it can be easier to make non-cash financial transactions. With bankjatim QRIS, anywhere you can, "said Busrul.
He hopes that by organizing the bankjatim QRIS Ramadan Vaganza, it can also further expand the bankjatim QRIS network. Throughout 2023, bankjatim QRIS merchants have reached 136,274 or grew 133 percent (YoY) with a nominal transaction of Rp 697 billion or grew 262 percent compared to the same period last year (YoY). "Hopefully bankjatim in the future can always be a good partner for the Surabaya City Government and our services can continue to provide benefits to customers, especially the people of Surabaya," concluded Busrul.
Meanwhile, on the occasion, Eri Cahyadi invited the entire community to attend and enjoy a variety of Surabaya culinary specialties served in the bankjatim QRIS Ramadan Vaganza event. In addition to culinary, there are also various competitions, such as patrol and coloring, street performance, live music, fashion show, and tausiyah at Surabaya City Hall. "Alhamdulilah, it is extraordinary that at Surabaya City Hall there are various MSMEs that display all their products, the food is very extraordinary, the people who come here have nothing to lose. This is a new place for ngabuburit from bankjatim and Suara Surabaya," Eri explained.
He also stated that it is possible that the bankjatim QRIS Ramadan Vaganza event will be held again in the following year. Because, a few minutes after the opening of this event, residents immediately stormed various MSMEs to staples in the cheap market. "If like this, God willing, it will be sustainable. We will see the interest of MSMEs first, and we will also see the interest of the community. Hopefully, events like this will become a momentum for MSMEs to grow and people can consistently use non-cash payments," said Eri.
