Caring for MSMEs and Education, Bank Jatim Actively Distributes CSR.

PAMEKASAN, June 19, 2025. As a form of corporate social responsibility to the surrounding environment, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) is increasingly intensive in providing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance. Most recently, Bank Jatim has officially handed over CSR to two Regency Governments (Pemkab) simultaneously on Thursday (19/6). The two Regencies are Pemkab Pamekasan and Pemkab Probolinggo.
For the distribution in Pamekasan, the CSR assistance in the form of 46 units of MSME carts was symbolically handed over by Bank Jatim Compliance Director Umi Rodiyah to the Regent of Pamekasan, KH Kholilurrahman. Meanwhile, for Probolinggo, the CSR assistance in the form of the construction of a food court (pujasera) and public bathrooms in the Gelora Merdeka Kraksaan Stadium Area was handed over by Bank Jatim Corporate Secretary Fenty Rischana K to the Expert Staff for Law, Government, and Development of Pemkab Probolinggo, A’at Kardono.
Umi explained that the assistance in the form of pushcarts aims to encourage MSMEs to be more developed and creative, especially for street vendors in the Ex. Railway Station Area in the Pamekasan region. It also aims to boost the people's economy and support the Regent's 100-day work program. ”CSR Bank Jatim Peduli is the company's commitment to supporting regional development and a manifestation of the company's synergy with the local government. Not only focusing on business, we also consistently provide real contributions to the people of East Java, including in Pamekasan. Hopefully, this assistance can further increase the productivity of Pamekasan MSMEs so that it can bring a positive impact on the regional economy,” she explained.
Umi emphasized that what has been done is a form of Bank Jatim's support for Pamekasan Regency. ”Later, we will also provide education to the traders there regarding financial management and conduct branding with QRIS Bank Jatim. Because the presence of QRIS can make it easier for both sellers and buyers to transact. This is also part of financial literacy,” she expressed.
KH Kholilurrahman hopes that with this cart assistance, street vendors can have a new spirit in order to develop their businesses so that the collective desire to prosper the traders can be realized. ”We express our deepest gratitude to Bank Jatim for helping the progress of the traders. Hopefully, the synergy that has been well-established so far can continue,” he detailed.
CSR for Probolinggo and Education
Regarding the CSR for Pemkab Probolinggo, Fenty said this is a manifestation of Bank Jatim's real contribution to the region. Thus, there is "value beyond profit," where the profits obtained by the company will be returned to the regions that tremendously support Bank Jatim. ”The assistance we provide to Pemkab Probolinggo can provide several benefits. Among others, creating public spaces and places for community socialization over the next few years. Furthermore, it is also useful for reorganizing pedestrian infrastructure so that infrastructure functions are achieved in accordance with applicable regulations,” she explained.
Fenty hopes that the public facilities provided can be utilized optimally by the community for various activities, from socializing to maintaining friendships. ”Social interaction of this kind is often a trigger for the growth of economic activity. Because when people gather, there is bound to be economic activity. Therefore, this facility is expected to be able to encourage economic turnover that has a positive impact on the people of Probolinggo Regency,” she asserted.
Not only that. On the same day, Bank Jatim also handed over CSR in the form of scholarships for 66 students of Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. The scholarships were symbolically handed over by the Leader of Bank Jatim Surabaya Main Branch, Johanes Koento Eko Pramono. This scholarship CSR is one manifestation of bankjatim's commitment to advancing the world of education. The goal is to lighten the burden of education costs for high-achieving and underprivileged students so they can complete their education programs on time. In addition, it is also to increase achievement and motivation for students, because the young generation is a generation that has great potential to build the future. Therefore, they must be fully supported in terms of education to build superior human resources.
