SURABAYA, March 29, 2025. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) continues to support the programs of the East Java Provincial Government. One of these is the free mudik (annual homecoming) program, which departs from two locations: Jakarta and Surabaya. The send-off for participants departing from Jakarta was conducted by East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak and Bank Jatim's Director of Medium, Corporate, and Network Business, Arif Suhirman, at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah on Friday morning (28/3). Meanwhile, in Surabaya, the participants were released directly by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Bank Jatim President Director Busrul Iman on Saturday morning (29/3) in front of the East Java Transportation Agency (Dishub Jatim) Office.

Busrul explained that Bank Jatim is very proud to collaborate with the East Java Provincial Government in this free mudik program. Many benefits can be gained from the free mudik. These include reducing traffic congestion and the economic burden often experienced during the mudik season. More importantly, it provides comfort and safety for the travelers. "The Eid mudik is a very important moment, and we want to ensure that the travelers' journey runs smoothly, safely, and comfortably," he stated.

The support provided by Bank Jatim includes branding on all event attributes and providing a new currency exchange post for the travelers. Busrul hopes that this contribution can facilitate the community who wish to travel home, while also serving as a form of participation by Bank Jatim, a Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD), which aims to provide optimal services to the community.

"Bank Jatim's participation in this program is a manifestation of our commitment to supporting social activities and providing direct benefits to the people of East Java. We hope the mudik journey is smooth and comfortable, and that everyone arrives safely at their destination. We also extend our greetings for Idul Fitri 1 Syawal 1446 Hijriah to Muslims in East Java, especially the participants of the Free Mudik. We ask for forgiveness of all our faults, both physical and spiritual (Mohon maaf lahir dan batin)," he added.

Meanwhile, a total of 102 buses were dispatched by Khofifah Indar Parawansa to 17 routes across 20 regencies/cities in East Java. The Inter-City within Province (Antar Kota Dalam Provinsi - AKDP) free mudik routes will pass through Tulungagung, Trenggalek, Nganjuk, Magetan, Madiun, Ponorogo, Ngawi, and Banyuwangi via Jember. The journey will then continue through Banyuwangi via Situbondo, Jember, Tuban, Sumenep, Bojonegoro, Blitar via Pare, Blitar via Malang, Pacitan, and Bondowoso.

According to data from Dishub Jatim, a total of 343 fleets have been dispatched, including Inter-City Inter-Province (Antar Kota Antar Provinsi - AKAP) transport from Jakarta to East Java. This free mudik is expected to reduce passenger buildup at terminals and minimize the occurrence of accidents.

Governor Khofifah stated that not only today, but also yesterday and several days prior, there were 98 buses facilitated through various elements, such as universities, mass organizations (ormas), and those based on radio and media. "And yesterday, 78 buses departed from Jakarta to various cities in East Java," she revealed.

According to Khofifah, this free mudik program is a form of the East Java Provincial Government's care to ensure that the community can return to their hometowns safely and comfortably. She noted that every Eid, the number of people movements increases significantly. "Therefore, this program is expected to help reduce road congestion while providing a transportation solution for residents. We hope this activity can provide the best service for all people of East Java," she concluded.
