PASURUAN, 16 JANUARY 2024 - PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) continues to support the programs of the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov). One of them is the provision of social assistance (bansos) to people in need. On Tuesday (16/1), the East Java Provincial Government through the East Java Provincial Social Service has handed over assistance for extreme poverty, top up Social Assistance for Persons with Disabilities (ASPD), as well as the provision of TKSK and Tagana ropes in Pasuruan Regency.

Located at the Pasuruan Regency Hall, the delivery of aid was carried out by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, President Director of bankjatim Busrul Iman, and Pasuruan Regent Andriyanto. As for the social assistance, bankjatim acts as a distributor of cash assistance to 455 Beneficiary Families (KPM) of the Extreme Poverty Program Expansion Year 2023 in the form of cycle savings. Each KPM received social assistance amounting to Rp 1.5 million which was directly transferred through the bankjatim account.

Busrul explained, as a Regional Development Bank (BPD) that grew large in East Java, bankjatim has a commitment to contribute to encouraging the welfare of the people of East Java. So, it will continue to strengthen its role to always provide positive benefits to the environment and the surrounding community. "The involvement of bankjatim in the distribution of the provincial government's social assistance program is the realization of the company's support in improving the quality of human life through improving people's welfare," he said.

Busrul hopes that all the assistance can be useful for business capital. So that it can have an impact on the economic growth of East Java. "Hopefully it will be a blessing for everyone and can increase the income and economy of the family. So in the future it can reduce the poverty rate in Pasuruan Regency," he said.

On this occasion, Khofifah also said that social assistance like this is a very effective format in reducing extreme poverty in the regions. She is optimistic about reducing extreme poverty in East Java as long as all parties are willing to work together and collaborate for the realization of zero extreme poverty.

"What is needed, of course, is data verification and combing through the indicators in every district/city in East Java. Therefore, we thank all parties who have helped alleviate poverty. Thanks also to the Social Service and bankjatim. Hopefully the social assistance that we distribute today can provide benefits for all, "he said.

According to Arief, all the data shows that bankjatim is very trusted by the government to become a KUR partner. Moreover, this year bankjatim has also been trusted to distribute KUR Syariah. Since it was launched in November 2023, public enthusiasm for bankjatim's Sharia KUR is quite high. "In the first two months of this, KUR Syariah bankjatim can already realize Rp 11,959 billion. We are optimistic that KUR Syariah will grow rapidly considering that there are many Islamic boarding schools in East Java," he added.

Head of the East Java Provincial Social Service Restu Novi Widiani added, the beneficiary KPMs are those who have not been touched by any assistance from the government such as PKH (family hope program), rice assistance, and others.

"In addition, the beneficiary KPMs have also been verified according to the DTKS (integrated data on social welfare) of each city / district which is then proposed to the East Java Social Service," she said.
