JEMBER, September 18, 2023. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk or bankjatim continues to synergize with all district governments (Pemkab) and city governments (Pemkot) in East Java in order to grow the economy and improve the welfare of the community. Most recently, bankjatim together with the Jember Regency Government has launched E-Parking on Monday (18/9) which coincides with the commemoration of National Transportation Day 2023. Located in Jember Square, the activity was attended by the Regent of Jember Hendy Siswanto, Deputy Regent of Jember MB Firjaun Barlaman, SEVP Consumer Banking bankjatim Hermita, and bankjatim Jember Branch Manager Wawan.

President Director of bankjatim Busrul Iman explained, through the launching of E-Parking this indicates that bankjatim strongly supports the Jember Regency Government program to go digital. "We strongly support the movement of Pemkab Jember to increase non-cash payments among the community," he said.

Because according to him, in the era of today's increasingly digitally literate society, there will automatically be greater demands for the speed of public services and it is a challenge for the government in presenting digital technology-based services to adapt to the times. "Well, with this new breakthrough in the form of paying for parking using QRIS bankjatim in Jember Regency can also increase local revenue and at the same time monitor the performance of the parking attendants themselves," said Busrul.

Meanwhile, Hendy explained, E-Parking in Jember Regency is applied to vehicles from outside the Jember area. Because, so far vehicles from outside the region are not subject to parking levies even though they also enjoy facilities in Jember. So through this policy, later vehicle owners with plates outside Jember or other than P, are directed to pay for non-cash parking. "So for example such as plate L, W, N, and others that can be directly withdrawn parking fees and pay by using QRIS bankjatim scan. This is also our effort to increase Regional Original Revenue (PAD)," he said.

Therefore, continued Hendy, for Jember residents who still have vehicles with plates other than P, it is advisable to immediately make changes to the plate. Thus, later it will not include vehicles that must follow the E-Parking system. "Later in its implementation, parking attendants will carry QRIS barcodes. So people who want to pay just tap the barcode. In addition, the E-Parking barcode will also be provided in shopping centers to make it easier for people to access," he said.

On the other hand, Hendy also said that PAD optimization by boosting local taxes and levies is not only applied to the parking levy sector. In the future, his party will continue to take strategic steps so that other local tax sectors, such as culinary and MSMEs can be maximized.
