Bank Jatim receives award from Ministry of Home Affairs

JAKARTA, September 29, 2023. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk or bankjatim again scored an achievement. This time, bankjatim successfully won an award in the BUMD Awards 2023 event organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The award achieved is that bankjatim managed to rank third for the Regional Development Bank (BPD) Large Category. Located at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel Jakarta, the prestigious award was given by the Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs Suhajar Diantoro to bankjatim's IT and Digital Director Zulhelfi Abidin on Friday (29/9).

Zulhelfi explained, this achievement will certainly further motivate bankjatim to continue to innovate and improve competitiveness, services, and company performance on an ongoing basis to support economic growth. "The award given to bankjatim is because the company is considered to have the achievement of performance and good governance and has made sustainable innovations in order to provide optimal public services," he explained.

According to Zulhelfi, the award from the Ministry of Home Affairs will certainly spur the spirit of bankjatim to continue to work better in providing benefits to stakeholders and shareholders. "We are ready to continue to synergize and collaborate with various parties in order to make a positive contribution to Indonesia and the development of bankjatim's business in a sustainable manner," he said.

As for performance, bankjatim successfully passed the first semester of 2023 with a positive performance. During the first semester of this year, bankjatim lending was able to record a significant increase above the average of 13.02 percent (YoY). For the highest credit growth occurred in the commercial and SME sectors by 25.55 percent (YoY) and the consumer sector 5.77 percent (YoY).

The credit growth that has been achieved by bankjatim has made the company's LDR even better. From 45.88% in the first semester of 2022 increased to 59.54% in the first semester of 2023. Bankjatim's credit distribution was also followed by improvements in loan quality. This can be seen from the Loan At Risk (LAR) ratio which sloped at 5.77% in the first semester of 2023, compared to 6.86% in the previous year (YoY). Bankjatim's Gross Non Performing Loan (NPL) ratio also declined at 2.80% in the first semester of 2023, compared to 4.12% in the same period the previous year (YoY).

Meanwhile, the purpose of the BUMD Awards 2023 activity is to provide an assessment of the performance of BUMDs throughout Indonesia in the context of guidance and supervision of BUMD governance and performance. Then also to create a competitive climate between BUMDs, provide motivation to local governments in the management and development of BUMD businesses, increase synergy between BUMDs, BUMD associations, and also local governments, and encourage local governments and BUMDs to innovate to improve performance and public services.

Furthermore, the assessment used in the BUMD Awards 2023 is the benefit to the community, performance, governance, public services provided, as well as innovation and synergy. The assessment team is from related ministries, universities, and the media. This activity was organized in collaboration between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the All Indonesia BUMD Association and fully supported by PT Taspen.
