Bank Jatim has signed a cooperation (MOU) with the Hospital Director of Dr. Soetomo (19/9) and Surabaya Muhammadiyah Hospital (22/9) to perform cataract surgeries for 50 underprivileged people in Surabaya. Each hospital will be operated on 25 patients. The operating costs of 50 patients was borne entirely by the Bank Jatim through the program of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in 2011.   According to the President Director Bank Jatim Hadi Sukrianto, cataract surgery will be implemented throughout East Java. After 4 branches in Surabaya (Main Branch, dr. Sutomo, Perak, HR. Muhammad and Sharia). Furthermore, all branches of Bank Jatim in East Java asked to respond and immediately coordinate with the District-City Hospital in the working area.   Target participants throughout East Java cataract surgery of 750 patients from the community really poor. Bank Jatim felt compelled to do something to help give a glimmer of hope for those who are on average older. We work with the hospitals that have expertise in this operation, while operations and maintenance costs Rp 2 million per patient incurred by Bank Jatim everything. So to finance 750 underprivileged people of cataract patients in East Java, Jatim Bank disbursed about Rp. 1.5 billion. The funds are taken from the CSR Year 2011 is budgeted at Rp 15 billion. Hadi Sukrianto also explained, until this month CSR funds already used of Rp 9 billion.
