MALANG, February 17, 2025. As a form of corporate social responsibility to the surrounding environment, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) continues to actively distribute Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to various regions. One such instance is for the Malang City Government. Located at the Malang City Hall, the CSR in the form of one mobile service unit for Property Tax (PBB) and other regional tax payments was handed over by bankjatim’s Director of Risk Management, Eko Susetyono, to the Acting Mayor of Malang, Iwan Kurniawan, on Monday (17/2).

Eko explained that this CSR assistance serves several purposes, including supporting regional tax revenue optimization programs, increasing the accessibility of tax services, optimizing Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD), and improving efficiency in regional tax management. “As a result, the people of Malang City can utilize PBB and other regional tax payment programs without having to travel far to an office. Hopefully, with this mobile unit, public compliance in paying taxes will increase. After all, taxes will ultimately return to benefit all citizens of Malang City,” he explained.

According to Eko, the assistance is also a form of responsibility for bankjatim, which is a Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) of the East Java Provincial Government. He expressed hope that this CSR would help achieve Malang City's PAD targets for regional development, aimed at improving public welfare. “We hope the cooperation established with the Malang City Government continues to improve and provides a positive contribution to the region,” he clarified.

Iwan Kurniawan expressed his appreciation for bankjatim's support in enhancing public services. “This mobile service unit will make it easier for the public to access tax services, thereby increasing tax awareness. This synergy shows that city development does not only depend on the government budget but also involves many sectors, including banking. The mobile tax service unit will be operated immediately and stationed at various strategic, easily accessible points across Malang City,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, on the following day, bankjatim also delivered CSR to the Tulungagung Regency Government in the form of park lighting for the town square (aloon-aloon) and decorative lights for Kartini Park. Held at the Kongas Arum Kusumaningbongso Pavilion, the assistance was symbolically handed over by bankjatim’s Director of Medium, Corporate & Network Business, Arif Suhirman, to the Acting Regent of Tulungagung, Heru Suseno, on Tuesday night (18/2).

Arif explained that the provision of these park and decorative lights can enhance and beautify infrastructure while adding functional value and benefits for the people of Tulungagung Regency. “With these park and decorative lights, Tulungagung Regency will certainly become more beautiful, especially at night. The improved aesthetics of the town square and parks in Tulungagung will surely add a sense of comfort, which in turn impacts the increase in public visits. Naturally, this high visitation will trigger economic activity and growth in Tulungagung,” he explained.

Therefore, bankjatim hopes that the cooperation with Tulungagung Regency will continue to be well-maintained in the future. “This assistance is also a manifestation of our love and concern for the people of Tulungagung, who have provided trust and support to bankjatim in developing its business, and we hope it serves as an inspiration and brings a positive impact to the environment and the community,” he added.

Heru Suseno expressed his deepest gratitude to bankjatim for the CSR program, which can now be enjoyed by the public. He expressed hope that this program continues in the future. This is because, in addition to being part of the "face" of Tulungagung, the town square also serves as a multifunctional public space utilized for public recreation and as a center for the people's economy.
