SURABAYA, March 28, 2025. In order to expand synergy, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) has officially collaborated with Universitas Ciputra Surabaya. This was outlined in the signing of one Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and one Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on Friday (28/2). First, the MoU concerns cooperation in the implementation of tri dharma perguruan tinggi (three pillars of higher education), human resource development, and financial services. Second, the PKS concerns strengthening the export orientation of Universitas Ciputra Surabaya students and alumni. Held at the Semeru Room of Bank Jatim's Head Office, the signing was attended by Bank Jatim Director of Medium Business, Corporate & Network Arif Suhirman and Universitas Ciputra Vice Rector for Operational Affairs Laij Victor Effendi.

Arif Suhirman explained that there are many potential strategic collaborations between Bank Jatim and Universitas Ciputra that can be synergized. For example, the opportunity to optimize services and fund management within the Universitas Ciputra Surabaya environment. This is expected to increase Bank Jatim's third-party funds, especially from current accounts. Not only that, the potential for payroll facilities for lecturers and employees within the Universitas Ciputra Surabaya environment is also quite significant.

"In addition, we plan to synergize opportunities for multipurpose and other consumer credit financing for lecturers and employees, as well as offering other working capital credit schemes for Universitas Ciputra Surabaya. And we can also collaborate on co-branding student cards and Bank Jatim ATM cards intended for students," he explained.

By synergizing with Universitas Ciputra Surabaya, Arif Suhirman continued, it is very possible to open a partnership program channel for the children of Bank Jatim employees. "In the world of education, Bank Jatim does not only provide easy and efficient education fee payment facilities. However, we are also involved in various strategic collaborations to improve the quality of education in East Java and Indonesia," he asserted.

Arif Suhirman explained that with more than six thousand students registered at Universitas Ciputra Surabaya, this collaboration is believed to be able to increase financial inclusion in the academic environment and simultaneously encourage the growth of a financially literate young generation. With this increasingly close collaboration, it is hoped that it can provide significant benefits for both parties. Both for Bank Jatim in expanding its customer network and for Universitas Ciputra Surabaya in improving the quality of services to its academic community.

"Hopefully, through this MoU, a long-term collaboration can be created that not only strengthens the education sector but also opens wider opportunities for innovation and the development of quality human resources," said Bank Jatim Director of Medium Business, Corporate & Network Arif Suhirman.

On that occasion, Laij Victor Effendi expressed his highest appreciation to Bank Jatim for the synergy established. Because, with close collaboration between educational institutions and financial institutions, it is hoped that an ecosystem that supports sustainable and highly competitive industrial growth in Indonesia can be created. "Thank you for Bank Jatim's trust in collaborating to support Universitas Ciputra Surabaya in developing the tridarma perguruan tinggi. May this collaboration provide a real contribution to us, Bank Jatim, and to the nation," he said.
