SURABAYA, NOVEMBER 22, 2023. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) continues to show its commitment in the development of East Java's export business. This was proven by bankjatim's involvement in the Gebyar Export Jatim Berdaya 2023 event organized by the Department of Industry and Trade of East Java Province on Wednesday (22/11). Located at Graha Samudera Bumimoro Surabaya, the event was attended by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, bankjatim President Director Busrul Iman, bankjatim Director of Finance, Treasury and Global Services Edi Masrianto, bankjatim Director of Operations Arif Suhirman, and bankjatim SEVP of Corporations, Syndications and Institutions Koerniawan Prijambodo.

As for the series of activities of Gebyar Export Jatim Berdaya 2023, bankjatim signed a cooperation agreement with the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) related to several things. Namely the development of export communities, credit guarantees, and co-financing programs. In addition, the Governor of East Java together with the President Director of bankjatim also inaugurated the Foreign Exchange Pendulum Village fostered by bankjatim from Probolinggo. The bankjatim-assisted export IKM named CV Dua Putri Sholehah also received an award from Khofifah Indar Parawansa as an Innovative Product Export IKM.

Busrul explained, as is well known, East Java has become one of the national economic barometers with a significant contribution of 14.60% to Indonesia's GDP and 25.56% to the GDP of Java Island. This makes East Java the second largest economic center at the national level. "Seeing this fact, bankjatim as the Regional Development Bank of East Java has the duty and moral responsibility to participate in the regional development of East Java. We are here to always support the East Java Provincial Government program, including the development of East Java IKM / SME exports, "he explained.

.

Busrul said, the form of bankjatim's real program in supporting exports of SMEs / SMEs from upstream to downstream is through the Foreign Exchange Pendulum Village and J-Export and Trade Assistance / JXTA. The form of support starts in terms of financing, mentoring and assistance, to help expand market access for fostered IKM / SMEs through business matching. Thus, the potential for creating export transactions through new exporters or increasing portfolios and market expansion can be wide open. "In 2023, bankjatim started its commitment with 7 Foreign Exchange Pendulum Villages that have been inaugurated by the Governor of East Java," he said.

The bankjatim Foreign Exchange Pendulum Village has several programs. Among other things, internal strengthening of IKM / SME licensing legality, assistance / strategy preparation, export plans, business practices and negotiations, workshops, product curation, to business matching. There is also briefing/refreshment on export standards and procedures as well as financing support from upstream to downstream. "Of course, in running all of this, we synergize with many parties. Such as GPEI, Export Center Surabaya, Customs, Trade Attaches, overseas Diaspora, potential buyers from abroad, and do not rule out the possibility to synergize with other agencies," said Busrul.

This year, bankjatim has invited its fostered SMEs/SMEs to participate in the largest trade exhibition in Indonesia, Trade Expo Indonesia held in Jakarta last October. bankjatim also facilitated all the needs of SMEs/SMEs in the exhibition. "From the exhibition, our fostered partners get quite a lot of potential buyers and some even get new export contracts," continued Busrul.

Not enough there. Throughout this year 2023, bankjatim has also launched the JXTA program in three caresidenan areas. Namely, Kediri, Probolinggo, and Banyuwangi. "We hope that the Desa Pendulum Devisa and JXTA programs that are run will be able to create more new export-oriented SMEs/SMEs," Busrul said.

Meanwhile, Khofifah in her speech said, all parties must continue to synergize and move together until the SMEs and SMEs in East Java have the mindset that exporting is easy. She hopes that through this activity the export performance of East Java can be even better and exporters in East Java can continue to grow.

"Some time ago I came to the release of seaweed exports to Australia, which may seem to all of us not worth much, around Rp 150 million. We had a discussion with the Australian buyer and it turns out that three months ago they had groundbreaking for a seaweed processing plant in Surabaya. So, what I want to say is that we can actually do downstream after downstream which has a positive impact on the economic growth of East Java," he explained.

Khofifah also revealed, actually for East Java, exports are not only abroad. Because, East Java is the center of gravity. Logistically, of the 20 provinces in Eastern Indonesia, almost 80 percent of the logistics come from East Java. "Then why is the East Java Provincial Government diligently conducting trade missions? In the trade mission, we are not only trading East Java products, but we are also bringing buyers," continued the number one person in East Java.

According to him, the terminology should be used as one of the references that calculates exports not only from foreign markets. "For example, we sell products to Batam. Well, our goods purchased by Batam will be sold again to Singapore. Likewise, during a trade mission to North Sulawesi. They also resell our goods to the Philippines. So in essence, the potential in our own market is very large and must continue to be explored. It is not enough just to have a virtual business meeting. We must meet to recognize it so that it can provide even greater benefits to the economy of East Java, "he concluded.
