JAKARTA, NOVEMBER 27, 2023. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) won first place in the Annual Report Award (ARA) 2022 category of Financial BUMD Companies. Located in the main hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the prestigious award was received by bankjatim Compliance Director Tonny Prasetyo and was also attended by bankjatim Corporate Secretary Wioga Adhiarma Aji on Monday night (27/11).

Tonny felt very grateful and grateful for the award.

Tonny feels very grateful and thankful for the award that has been given to the company. Because, these achievements further add to the list of annual report award collections that have been obtained by bankjatim. For information, in early November 2023, bankjatim won gold rank in The Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) 2023 organized by the National Center for Corporate Reporting (NCCR). This achievement is a very positive thing because previously in 2021 bankjatim was only rewarded with a silver rating.

Not enough there, at the beginning of 2023, the issuer with the code BJTM also successfully won the A Rating award in the 2021 Sustainability Report from the Foundation for International Human Rights Reporting Standards (FIHRRST). "The annual report and sustainability report are the main media to communicate the company's commitment and efforts in managing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects. Of course, good ESG performance in companies will have an impact on the number of investors. This is because more and more investors are asking for a company's ESG reporting," he said.

So that with the achievement of this ARA, continued Tonny, is expected to support the performance of bankjatim in the future and can improve the quality of governance and the quality of bankjatim information to stakeholders. "This achievement certainly cannot be separated from the cooperation of all Jatimers, customer trust, and support from the entire community. Therefore, we would like to thank stakeholders, shareholders, and all customers who have faithfully supported the progress of bankjatim's business so far," he said.

Tonny explained, there were a total of 163 participants who participated in the ARA 2022 activity. Of the 163 participants, filtered 28 finalists including bankjatim, to then follow the interview process with the jury who are experts in their fields. In this case, bankjatim competed with other large banks. Such as Mandiri, BRI, BNI, BJB, and others. "So the success of bankjatim became the first winner of the BUMD Finance category in ARA 2022 through a very tight competition and not instant. Bankjatim is considered to have presented an annual report that meets corporate governance and accounting standards along with the company's increasingly positive performance thanks to the transformation of the five pillars, "he said.

In running the business, continued Tonny, bankjatim always always applies the principle of sustainability in order to maintain environmental and social sustainability in the long term. In addition, bankjatim is also committed to encouraging the regional economy and at the same time becoming the main partner of local governments in managing finances.

OJK's Chief Executive of Capital Market Supervision, Derivative Finance and Carbon Exchange Inarno Djajadi said, organizing ARA is not just an award event. ARA is a tangible manifestation of commitment to improving transparency and accountability in the financial services sector. "Since its inception around 2000, ARA has become an important barometer in assessing and rewarding best practices in reporting and corporate governance," he said.

Chairman of the ARA 2022 Steering Committee Mardiasmo added, ARA 2022 activities were carried out thanks to the cooperation of seven organizing agencies. Namely the Financial Services Authority, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Ministry of SOEs, the Directorate General of Taxes-Ministry of Finance, the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the National Committee for Governance Policy, and the Indonesian Institute of Accountants. The purpose of ARA is to encourage the implementation of corporate governance principles of companies in Indonesia through information disclosure and governance practices. "ARA criteria are prepared by accommodating all provisions/standards and best practices in the field of corporate governance and accounting and are always updated to harmonize with existing developments," he said.
