SURABAYA, April 10, 2025. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) continues to support programs promoted by the East Java Provincial Government. One of these is the Post-Eid Al-Fitr Gathering (Halal Bihalal) with the Governor of East Java, Deputy Governor of East Java, Gus Iqdam, the extended family of Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Actors throughout East Java at JX International Surabaya on Thursday (10/4). A total of 8,000 BUMD personnel and MSME actors filled JX. Also present at the occasion were all Commissioners of Bank Jatim, Directors of Bank Jatim, and 2,500 Jatimers (the moniker for Bank Jatim employees) from various regions.

Bank Jatim President Director Busrul Iman explained that this halal bihalal momentum can be utilized to further strengthen ties and togetherness to gain blessings in every step forward. Because with togetherness, all of us can face challenges easily and seize better opportunities. "We hope that through this halal bihalal, all of us can further enhance synergy among all components of the East Java Provincial Government and BUMD, especially within Bank Jatim, to create a more harmonious and productive work climate to answer various challenges in the banking industry in the future," he elaborated.

Busrul also expressed gratitude for being able to gather and share happiness at the grand halal bihalal event initiated by the Provincial Government. He also hoped that this activity could further increase synergy among employees. "We call upon all Jatimers to always maintain spirit, commitment, and professionalism so that Bank Jatim's services to the public can continue to be optimal," he asserted.

On the occasion, Governor Khofifah also emphasized the importance of maintaining mutual spirit and synergy to increase productivity amid the ongoing global economic challenges. She hoped that all parties, in facing the dynamics of global economic contraction today, would maintain a spirit of optimism and confidence that, Insya Allah (God willing), the East Java economy will be well maintained through the synergy of all forces, elements, and institutions in East Java.

"The existence of BUMD, Cooperatives, and MSMEs is also important as contributors to the Regional Own-Source Revenue (PAD) of the Regional Budget (APBD) and the backbone of East Java's economy. Therefore, efforts are needed to build resilience from below, the key to which is Cooperatives, MSMEs, and BUMD. It is time for East Java to strengthen key sectors, including energy, food, logistics, and financing, all of which can be reinforced through the active role of BUMD," Khofifah stressed.

In addition, Deputy Governor Emil Dardak also invited all elements of BUMD, Cooperatives, and MSMEs to reform and prepare themselves to welcome the future of East Java as the New Gateway to the Archipelago (Gerbang Baru Nusantara). "The definition of the New Gateway to the Archipelago is a concept that embraces the future," he said.

Emil mentioned that there are eight key points for East Java as the New Gateway to the Archipelago, one of which is East Java's role as the regulator of commodity flow. In the future, other regions, even other countries, will continue to innovate. "Therefore, we must reform, anticipate the future. We are not receivers of goods, but we must regulate the flow of goods," he affirmed.
