JAKARTA, December 23, 2024. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has demonstrated its seriousness in supporting the government program to accelerate the fulfillment of housing needs for Low-Income Communities (MBR). This is realized through the KPR Sejahtera Housing Finance Liquidity Facility (FLPP) program and Public Housing Savings (Tapera) financing for the year 2025.
The form of bankjatim's support for the program is by participating in the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the KPR Sejahtera FLPP program and Tapera financing for 2025, as well as a Joint Commitment to the Success of the 3 Million Houses program. From bankjatim's side, the PKS was signed by the SEVP of Consumer Banking, Hermita, and the SEVP of Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional, Koerniawan Prijambodo, alongside 39 other distributing banks at the Auditorium Building of the Ministry of Public Works (PU), South Jakarta, on Monday (23/12).
Witnessing the signing of the PKS were the Minister of Housing and Residential Areas, Maruarar Sirait; the Director General of State Assets of the Ministry of Finance, Ronald Silaban; and the Executive Head of Supervisor of Financial Services Business Behavior, Education, and Consumer Protection, who is also a Member of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Friderica Widyasari Dewi.
The President Director of bankjatim, Busrul Iman, stated that he highly appreciates the signing of this PKS. This is because it is mutually beneficial for each party as housing finance has significant potential to increase bank income. Among the 39 distributing banks, the breakdown consists of 7 National Banks and 32 Regional Development Banks (BPD). "This is concrete evidence of bankjatim in supporting the government to improve the welfare of the Indonesian people. Thus, people, especially in the East Java region with low incomes, can own private homes by enjoying home ownership financing facilities from BJTM," he said.
Furthermore, for the financing process, it will be carried out through banking mechanisms with applicable terms and conditions. To distribute the Home Ownership Financing, the bank will first verify the prospective debtors to determine whether or not they are eligible to enjoy the financing facilities from the government program. Busrul certainly hopes that this housing financing program can assist the community's economic stability and that bankjatim becomes a bank that cares about community needs.
”In addition to the PKS, we are also committed to the success of the 3 Million Houses program launched by the Central Government. With this program, of course, in the future, it can help the community to have affordable housing. For this reason, both bankjatim and the bankjatim Sharia Business Unit (UUS) are present in implementing the program for the welfare of the community,” he said.
Commissioner of BP Tapera, Heru Pudyo Nugroho, stated that the government, through BP Tapera, will distribute KPR FLPP amounting to IDR 28.2 trillion for 220,000 housing units in 2025. ”Following the encouragement of the Minister of Housing and Residential Areas with the support of the Ministry of Finance, we can convey that in early January 2025, banks can already carry out KPR FLPP contracts," said Heru.
Therefore, he requested readiness from housing stakeholders, especially from the banking and developer sectors, to ensure that housing units are in ready stock. "This effort is a real breakthrough following the Minister's direction in order to accelerate the realization of FLPP to support the 3 million houses program," Heru emphasized.
According to him, the distribution of FLPP still uses the currently applicable scheme, which is a funding composition of 75 percent from the State Budget (APBN) and 25 percent from banking. However, he hopes for a follow-up regarding the proposal to change the composition to 50 percent from the State Budget and 50 percent from banking.
Meanwhile, in his speech, Maruarar Sirait also invited all parties, including the private sector, to be actively involved in the 3 million houses construction program. This is because the program is considered not only to drive investment but also to boost other industries, create jobs, and increase state revenue. "We hope this collaboration can become even closer so that fund allocations can be utilized maximally by ensuring that the houses built meet standards and are correctly targeted," he concluded.
