BATU, JANUARY 5, 2023. The distribution of People's Business Credit (KUR) PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) to SMEs continues to show positive performance from year to year. This was conveyed by the Director of Micro, Retail, and Medium bankjatim R. Arief Wicaksono in the Socialization of KUR Distribution Policy Year 2024 and Evaluation of KUR Distribution Year 2023 on Friday (5/1).

Located at the Aston Batu Hotel, the socialization was attended by Assistant Deputy for Capital Markets and Financial Institutions of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Gede Edy Prasetya, Director of Institutional and Services of PT Jamkrindo (Persero) Abdul Bari, Region 4 East Java Leader of PT Askrindo (Persero) I Gede Putra Wijaya, Pjs. Vice President of bankjatim Micro Credit Teguh Sunyoto, Acting. Vice President of Retail and Medium Credit bankjatim Firman Iswahyudi M, and Branch Managers bankjatim.

Arief explained that the KUR program is a credit / working capital financing and / or investment to individual / individual debtors, business entities, and / or business groups that are productive and feasible but do not have additional collateral (unbankable). The goal is to increase and expand access to financing to productive businesses, increase the competitiveness capacity of MSMEs, and encourage economic growth.

"We are grateful that in its development, KUR bankjatim gets extraordinary enthusiasm among the people of East Java, especially MSME players. This is evidenced by the continued increase in the quota and number of KUR bankjatim distribution to business actors since 2021, "he explained.

He revealed, in 2021, bankjatim received a KUR quota of IDR 700 billion. Of this figure, which was successfully distributed by 88.7 percent. "For the number of KUR debtors in 2021 itself as much as 4,928," said Arief.

Next, in 2022 bankjatim managed to obtain a KUR quota worth Rp 2.5 trillion. The percentage of distribution is around 95.19 percent with the number of debtors 19,159 people. "The numbers increased significantly. Therefore in that year, bankjatim was awarded as the best KUR credit channeling bank in East Java," said Arief. Furthermore, in 2023 bankjatim KUR quota also increased again, namely at Rp 2.89 trillion. Successfully channeled about 96 percent with the number of debtors 22,253.

According to Arief, all the data shows that bankjatim is very trusted by the government to be a KUR partner. Moreover, this year bankjatim has also been trusted to distribute KUR Syariah. Since it was launched in November 2023, public enthusiasm for bankjatim's Sharia KUR is quite high. "In the first two months of this, KUR Syariah bankjatim can already realize Rp 11,959 billion. We are optimistic that KUR Syariah will grow rapidly considering that in East Java there are many Islamic boarding schools, "he added.

He hopes that socialization activities like this can be carried out on an ongoing basis as a form of bankjatim's presence in meeting the financial needs of the people of East Java, especially for MSME players. "As we all know, MSMEs have an important and strategic role in the Indonesian economy, especially in East Java. Because, MSME players are the largest part of all people's economic activities and at the same time support the Indonesian economy which has a contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and considerable employment. So their existence must be supported," said Arief.

Therefore, the support of financing programs is considered very important because it can grow new business actors and can increase the competitiveness of MSMEs so that they can increase to a larger business scale. "We certainly hope that the KUR program can make MSMEs transform and upgrade to medium to large businesses," said Arief.
