As a follow-up to the signing of the MoU related to the establishment of the Bank Business Group (KUB) PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) with PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Lampung (Bank Lampung) some time ago, on Wednesday (13/12) the signing of the Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) on the Exchange of Information in the Context of Capital Participation and at the same time the signing of the Business Synergy Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the two parties. Located at the bankjatim Head Office, the signing of the NDA was carried out by bankjatim President Director Busrul Iman and Bank Lampung President Director Presley Hutabarat witnessed by bankjatim Independent Commissioner Prof. Muhammad Mas'ud and Bank Lampung President Commissioner Fahrizal Darminto.
In addition to the NDA, on the occasion also took place the signing of two PKS. The first, PKS related to Trade Processing Agent and the second is PKS related to Partnership Remittance Services. The two MCCs were signed by the Director of Finance, Treasury and Global Services bankjatim Edi Masrianto and Business Director of Bank Lampung Ahmad Jahri.
Busrul explained, this activity is one of a series of several activities that have previously been carried out intensively between bankjatim and Bank Lampung related to the formation of KUB. "What needs to be known together, the spirit of KUB is the spirit of collaboration to synergize. So it is hoped that the signing of the NDA and PKS Business Synergy can be part in order to strengthen collaboration, "he said.
He emphasized that bankjatim is ready to conduct business cooperation with Bank Lampung on various sides. Starting from human capital, technology, to the business process. The optimism is not without reason. bankjatim has had experience in the KUB process with Bank NTB Syariah. So, bankjatim believes the formation of KUB with Bank Lampung can bring benefits and benefits to both parties.
One of the advantages of bankjatim that can be utilized by KUB members, including Bank Lampung, is JConnect Remittance. Busrul explained, JConnect Remittance is a service presented by bankjatim to facilitate the receipt of money (incoming remittances) from abroad. Lampung itself has the potential of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) which is tantalizing. For information, in the placement of PMI until June 2023, Lampung is in fifth place after East Java, Central Java, West Java, and West Nusa Tenggara. The number of migrant workers in Lampung is around 9,899 people. "The potential is big. Later, Bank Lampung can directly use our JConnect Remittance to conduct transactions to receive money from abroad. We are ready in terms of technical, business, and support, "he said.
Currently, JConnect Remittance has partnered with Malaysia through Merchantrade. For the future, bankjatim will cooperate with Hong Kong and Taiwan in terms of this remittance. "In Malaysia, the finances of the PMI in four months recorded Rp 2 trillion through bankjatim. Not yet the dollars that have reached above 100 million dollars. So this business has huge potential," added Edi Masrianto.
In addition to remittance, bankjatim also has advantages in trade finance. Trade Finance is a trade transaction service both domestically and internationally using payment instruments in the form of Letters of Credit, Domestic Documentary Letters of Credit (SKBDN), and Documentary Collection (Clean/Againts Payment/Againts Acceptance). Well, with this Lampung Bank, bankjatim cooperates in terms of SKBDN.
Bankjatim offers a variety of trade finance services that can expand the market and business of KUB members. Such as the issuance of SKBDN including changes if any, acceptance of document presentations and bills on SKBDN, payments on document presentations and bills, receipt and forwarding of SKBDN issued by other banks, forwarding payments on document presentations and SKBDN bills, bank to bank correspondency through SWIFT, and providing discount services.
On the other hand, bankjatim also has advantages in the field of technology. Currently, the issuer with the code BJTM already has a sharing biller service and SISTA (System Integration of Your Transaction Solution). In terms of sharing biller concept, bankjatim provides host to host to communicate with BPD - BPD incorporated in KUB in two ways. First, using ISO8583. Second, using JSON. Furthermore, bankjatim as a sharing biller will also work with NTB Syariah bank. Not only that. bankjatim now also has a sharing biller that has worked with many aggregators. Among them are Tokopedia, Dana, Gojek, Shopee, Blibli, Indomaret, Alfamart, and Pos Indonesia.
Then related to SISTA joint development, bankjatim already has a digital banking ecosystem QRIS. bankjatim itself has an ecosystem target that is transferred from electronic to digital to support government programs using QRIS. These ecosystems are markets and malls, education, sports, communities, hospitals, hotels, culinary, tourism, transportation, places of worship, borders, and local governments.
"The point is, in the joint development of SISTA, bankjatim already has a digital banking ecosystem QRIS.
"In essence, in this KUB we already have a roadmap related to what stages will be carried out in the future. We hope that Bank Lampung will not hesitate to continue communicating with us so that we can accelerate the KUB process," Busrul said.
The President Director of Bank Lampung Presley Hutabarat also stated that he really welcomed the signing of the NDA and business synergy with bankjatim related to SKBDN and Remittance. Because, in the Lampung region itself there are several regions that have a large enough level of distribution of migrant workers. Such as East Lampung, Tanggamus, and Mesuji. "In Lampung the market share for migrant workers is quite large but we can't take it because we can't accommodate remittances. So with this synergy, we hope to take this promising potential. I believe this cooperation will bring many positive impacts. There is a lot that we need from bankjatim," he added.
Bank Lampung's own performance has also recorded positive growth. The total assets of Bank Lampung as of June 2023 amounted to Rp 9.88 trillion. Then, the total credit disbursed by Bank Lampung as of June 2023 was at Rp 6.43 trillion with its net profit as of June 2023 around Rp 71.52 billion.
