Expanding Market, Bank Jatim Include 3 MSMEs in Lampung Trade Mission

LAMPUNG, May 8, 2023. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk or bankjatim is increasingly aggressive in providing assistance to its fostered MSMEs. One way is by facilitating the participation of MSMEs in the Trade and Investment Mission organized by the East Java Provincial Government in the Swiss-Belhotel Ballroom, Lampung, Monday (8/5).
With the theme Improving Network Connectivity Between East Java Province and Lampung Province, the Trade Mission event was attended by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi who also opened the event. On the occasion, also present was the President Director of bankjatim Busrul Iman.
Busrul explained that MSMEs play a major role in the opening of jobs and the economy of the community, especially in East Java. So it is fitting that MSMEs should be fully supported by their productivity. "Therefore, we not only provide banking services to MSME customers, but we are also active in providing assistance for business development. One of them is through participation in the Trade Mission," he said.
According to Busrul, one of bankjatim's missions in this activity is to help assisted MSMEs to expand market networks and support the government in strengthening trade links between East Java Province and Lampung Province. "As a regionally owned bank, we will continue to support MSMEs so that they grow more rapidly and have good quality so that they can compete in national and international markets," he said.
There are 3 MSMEs assisted by Bank Jatim which are included in this Trade Mission event. Among others, wood products from UMKM KayuKayuku, leather products from UMKM Shaliza, and processed food from UMKM Sambel Pecel Bu Pariyem. "The superior products of MSMEs assisted by bank orphans are expected to be able to provide benefits according to the needs of the community in this Lampung Province area," he explained.
Owner Shaliza, M. Samsul Huda, admitted that he was very grateful for being given the opportunity and facilitated by bankjatim to participate in this Trade Mission activity. Besides being able to increase turnover, continued Huda, exhibitions like this are also useful in opening a network of connections outside East Java. "My production is in Tanggulangin. Hopefully, my buyers will be more and more from outside the region," he said.
On this occasion, Khofifah said, the event which was attended by around 151 business actors managed to record transaction commitments worth Rp 240 billion. She hopes that through the East Java Trade Mission activities, it can build a close brotherhood with Lampung and become a sustainable collaboration.
"Our hope is that the trade cooperation will be successful.
"We hope that this trade cooperation can strengthen the market between regions because the business potential between the two provinces is very large. We are ready to synergize with Lampung Province," Khofifah said.
In line with Khofifah, Arinal said that this Trade Mission event could optimize and empower the potential of each region. So that his party hopes that this activity can be carried out on an ongoing basis.
"The Trade Mission carried out with East Java is not only about the economy. Because, the people of East Java in Lampung number around 3 million so the potential is very large. Hopefully this Trade Mission will start a good business cooperation and benefit the people of East Java and Lampung, "he concluded.
