Create the Central Economic Grouper Aquaculture in Situbondo, Bank Jatim with ICCO & Foundation Penabulu Sign the Cooperation Agreement

Economic agribusiness sector currently be excellent. With the attention of the government to further improve the welfare of society and economic actors ranging from the lowest level, such as farmers, fishermen and so on, will be raised up the Indonesian economy.

One of them is how the maritime sector economy began to rise again. The government policy is currently very supportive of marine products Indonesian territory for the benefit of domestic production or consumption, is believed to be able to provide considerable economic growth and is able to improve the welfare of the people or economic actors.

In line with these conditions, Tuesday (3/2), bankjatim with ICCO (Interchruch Organization for Development Cooperation) and the Foundation Penabulu entered into agreements in terms of the development of grouper aquaculture in keramba jaring apung, Situbondo. In this cooperation agreement bankjatim agreed to provide loans for the development of grouper aquaculture program.

The background of the signing of this agreement is actually originated from the commitment of the Government of Indonesia through Bappenas with the Australian Government to help the people of Indonesia, especially in East Java in developing the agricultural sector through the AIP-PRISMA program (Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Income Through Support for Marketing in Agriculture).

AIP-PRISMA itself is a team of experts in market development that works to improve the competitiveness of businesses across the agribusiness sector in Indonesia who has experience in various countries.

To carry out activities in Indonesia, the AIP-PRISMA cooperation with ICCO (Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation) which is a non-profit international non-governmental organizations from the Netherlands that focus on the social field and has the goal of improving people's lives around the world.

The Foundation Penabulu is a third party who is a partner selected by the ICCO in providing training and direct assistance to fishermen in Keramba Jaring Apung.

Director of Agribusiness & Sharia bankjatim Tony Sudjiaryanto said This collaboration is expected to bring other economic centers of the grouper seed production centers in East Java, Situbondo.

"As we know grouper aquaculture is quite difficult to apply, for this moment just bali who succeed in doing aquaculture grouper. Therefore, with this partnership is expected to bring the other economic centers of the grouper in East Java, that is in Situbondo, considering the natural conditions are not much different with Bali, "Obviously Tony.

Tony also added to the establishment of cooperation between bankjatim and ICCO and AIP-PRISMA, do not rule out the possibility in the future there will be more co-operation of other economic sectors as concerns both institutions in agribusiness such as palm plantations, aquaculture, seaweed cultivation, plant coffee, cashew nuts, beef production, and so forth.
